| Abstract | This document contains the performance assessment instruments and criteria which will be applied as part of the certification process for beginning school counselors in Georgia. The purpose of the process is to provide the candidate with an opportunity to demonstrate the essential competencies on the job. While the candidate bears the ultimate responsibility for the completion of the process, the employing system must provide the counselor with an opportunity to perform the essential skills. These competencies are planning, individual counseling, small group facilitating, consulting, training, and information processing. This document can be used as a companion to Pioneer Cooperative Educational Service Agency's "Data Collector's Guide." (Author/LEB) |
